Whats new with JAK and where we ride?
Saturday(8/24/02)
Well, we tried to have a big ride downtown with Kyle, Mark and Eric and David(friends of ours) and me. Aaron was hangin with his friend, so he didn't come. David didn't show up so we left and began riding. It didn't amount to much for the first half as Mark took us through an area he thought was awesome and it wasn't anything but crap. The only
thing that turned out to be good on the ride was a high school that had a nice ledge which I(Jarett) backwheeled while the others grinded it. Kyle found some stairs and gapped those. We found one other area that was kind of fun. It was a parking lot that had a quick incline and and we hit it a little and then Mark and Eric left and me and Kyle decided to ride Weslyan. We found some stairs and Kyle went to work gapping them. It was really amazing how good he was doing gapping them and how effortless it looked. I found a couple of ledges to backwheel. We decided to head to ISU and ride around for a while. All the students were coming back so it was kind of crowded. We found more stairs and Kyle again was gapping. I found a wall that I backwheeled a few times. We went to a jump called the story tall jump and it is a story tall. There was a few guys already there hitting it and so we waited our turn. Kyle pulled a few one footers and one handers. It looked awesome. One of the guys hitting the jump tried a kick out and bailed out kind of hard. He was riding an old ghetto GT full sus. There was a big planter in the middle of a courtyard so I backwheeled it a couple of times. The guys riding the jump tried to make it up and the all sucked at it, so I showed them how it was done...:)We hit one last set of stairs and Kyle was gapping of them of course. I had been backwheel gapping over them and decided to do it once more before we left. Bad idea. I get the front end up and back pedal for the kick. As I do the kick, my hub slips and I end up doing the great endo and end up on the sidewalk at the foot of the stairs. Good thing it was in an area where there wasn't many people.(NOT!!!!) After that we called it a day. It was a pretty nice day for riding. Unforutnately, we wasted the first half of it riding gay stuff in down town Bloomington. Oh well, ISU was the reward for the wait.

Monday(8/12/02)
Aaron finnaly rode with us! We rode around our neighbor hood. Some dirt was poured on our neighbor's drive way and we made a jump out of it and hit that for the whole time Kyle was here. Kyle was doin pretty good that day. He pulled almost pulled a no foot can-can. He also pulled quite a few inverts that day. By far the coolest of the ride was when Kyle almost pulled a superman. He didn't quite land it though, racking himself as he tried to land it. He was ok after a while. Unfortunately, we got no pics of it. Maybe next time. After he recovred from the pain, he went for it again and pulled a sweet no footer that we got a pic of. He pulled another one that wasn't quite as good but was still awesome. We got a pic of it, too. My bro was pulling nosepicks most of the time we were there. He rode down a line we saw in a pile of rocks and he made it pretty nicely. I (Jarett) hit the jump as well and pulled a few inverts. I did a gap from one side of a planter to a stump in the middle and then to the other side of the planter. No pics of that yet, but there will be soon. Aaron will probably come on our next ride as well, so we will soon have more pics.

Friday(8/10/20) ride
Well, we (Kyle and I) met at Kyle's house to ride. When I got there, our friend Eric was there so he decided to ride with us. We took off to hit some ghetto jumps at our high school. There was a step-up and a transfer. Kyle and Eric hit them, but I(Jarett) decided not too. We only rode there for about 10 minutes and then decided to hit a section of jumps Kyle built out in the middle of a field filled with dirt piles. There was a rythem section and a table top. We road there for another 10 minutes and decided to hit downtown. On our way to downtown, we stopped at a apartment building. While catching our breath, I saw a retaining wall that had a lip of about 5" lip from the parking lot. So I eyed the drop to the other side and chose the smaller drop. I hit it and nailed it, first time. We left there and found a ghetto double and Kyle hit that. I found a ledge and rode it to the end where there was like a 2.5(?) foot drop. I saw some stairs and decided to up them. By the time I got to the top, I was ready to die I was so tired. We rode the quad a little and Kyle and Eric feebled a ledge while I backwheeled it. We left to go home and stopped at an elementary and Kyle and Eric tried feebling on some picnic tables and Kyle bunnyhopped onto a park bench in the front of the school and then we left for his house. It was a great ride, but we got no pics. Oh well, maybe next time....

Ride on Friday
Well, Kyle and I(Jarett) met up last Friday (8/2/02) and rode around my neighbor hood for a time. Kyle found a slope perfect for air, so we started hitting it. Kyle landed a one footer and I got a couple of backwheel 180's off it. A few feet away from the slope, was a picinic table and i couldn't resist, so I went over and started hopping around on it. I did a couple pedal-up's onto it and sidehops off. Then, I had to show Kyle a five foot gap by my house. So we went and found it and I nailed the second time I hit(I just found it a couple of weeks ago and it is still hard for me to hit) So we rode that for a few, then rode back to my house and he left. Aaron didn't ride cause he wasn't feeling up to it. Maybe next time...
